Jung Hong Chuang is a professor of Computer Science Department at National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan, ROC. He received his BS degree in applied
mathematics from National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan, in 1978, and MS and PhD degrees in Computer Science from Purdue University in 1987 and 1990,
respectively.
Chuang's primary research interests are in the areas of 3D graphics, virtual reality, and geometric modeling. In 3D graphics, he works on the modeling and the real-time rendering techniques for 3D game design, virtual reality and visual simulation. Current research topics include global illumination, hybrid rendering, mesh processing techniques (including level-of-detail modeling, mesh parameterization, deformation, and editing), and collision detection. His work on geometric modeling focuses on how to effectively represent, manipulate, and render complex surfaces and solids.
